Dhaulagiri Kalika Hydro Limited was established by investors from Myagdi District, many of them based abroad, to develop hydropower in Nepal. The Darbang Myagdi Hydro-Electric Project is the company's sole undertaking, and it receives the Board's complete attention.
The Board safeguards shareholders' investment through disciplined project management, statutory compliance, and transparent reporting. Every material decision follows the governance procedures the company owes its owners and partner institutions.
A hydropower plant serves for generations, and the Board plans on that horizon. We remain accountable to our shareholders, to our partner institutions, and to the communities of Malika Rural Municipality who host the project.

From NRN investment to civil works at Darbang: the record of one project, built by one company.
Dhaulagiri Kalika Hydro Limited is established by investors from Myagdi District, many of them non-resident Nepalis, with the aim of developing hydropower projects in Nepal.
Sanima Hydro and Dhaulagiri Kalika Hydro Ltd sign a development agreement on 2 December 2019, anchoring the project's path to construction.
Construction of the Darbang-Myagdikhola Hydropower Project starts in Malika Rural Municipality: the 25 MW scheme on the Myagdi Khola, built with investment from non-resident Nepalis.
Works continue across the weir, the waterways, and the powerhouse. Procurement remains active, with sealed quotations invited for site packages as recently as September 2025.

Mr. Binod Kunwor
Mr. Kunwor is an NRNA residing in South Korea and former country president of the NRNA Korea Chapter. He is a successful businessman with a diversified business portfolio across Agriculture, Tourism, Hotel & Restaurants, Travel, Finance, and Trading.
Mr. Harkaman Magar
Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and was an NRNA residing in Hong Kong. Prior to relocating to Nepal to lead this project, he owned and managed Construction and Trading enterprises in Hong Kong.
Mr. Tejendra Roka Magar
Holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and is a PhD scholar at Kathmandu University. Resident in the UK, he was founder president of NEA UK Chapter and Treasurer of NRNA UK (2017–2019), bringing extensive international civil engineering expertise.
Mr. Gyanendra Thapa
An NRNA residing in Hong Kong who owns and operates a well-established and successful construction business in Hong Kong, supporting major overseas infrastructure investments.
Mr. Dal Bahadur Bhattachan
A retiree from the Indian Army who has channeled decades of disciplined service and management into successful enterprises across Agriculture and Real Estate in Nepal.
Mr. Amrit Gauchan
Holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (BBA) and is actively involved in hospitality, managing prominent hotel and restaurant ventures with strong local ties.
Mr. Purna Bahadur Kunwor
An accomplished investor and entrepreneur deeply engaged in Trading, Finance, Agriculture, and Real Estate development, driving commercial growth in the region.

Holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA). Currently serves as Finance Director of Tilicho Group, which holds diversified interests in Finance, Healthcare, Agriculture, Tourism, and Hospitality.

Dhaulagiri Kalika Hydro is building the Darbang Myagdi Hydro-Electric Project under Nepal's hydropower framework: DoED-licensed, PPA-contracted with the NEA, with energy evacuated at 132 kV to the Dandakhet substation.
DoED Licensed
The Darbang Myagdi Hydro-Electric Project is licensed by the Department of Electricity Development, Nepal's national authority for hydropower development.
NEA Power Purchase & 132 kV Evacuation
The project sells its energy to the Nepal Electricity Authority, evacuated at 132 kV over 7.5 km to the Dandakhet substation, tying Darbang into the national grid.
